Skies of Arcadia
Review
| Skies of Arcadia Legends is truly one of the best games I have ever
played on ANY system, not just on the gamecube. This game starts out
simply. In the Land of Arcadia, new realms are being found constantly.
To go along with the new people and lands being found there is treasure.
Fighting for the Treasure are the Black Pirates and the Blue Rogues. One
of those Blue Rogues is Vyse. A strong leader from the get go, you
personally get to choose his actions increasing his rating until he
finally reaches his dream, to become a legend. To put the joy you
receive from playing this game into words is simply not possible. It is
like most RPG's out there only this take the best attributes of the best
RPG's and puts them in one. Now onto the ratings. Graphics 9: The games only weak point. The characters faces look kind of drawn, but it allows the player to fully comprehend their emotion. Other than that, the environments and dungeons are beautiful. Gameplay 10: Truly the best aspect of this game. This game features hours of exploring, tons of battling, and cruising in your Air Ship. The battles are turn-based like many RPG's. There are plenty of spells over six different types: Red, Green, Blue, Purple, Yellow, and Silver. Each type has six spells. Also there are well over 75 different weapons in Skies of Arcadia Legends allowing for tons of exploring for just the right one. Sound and Music 9: The sounds in this game include mostly tidbits like ''hey!'' and ''wow!'' There isn't much voice acting, if any at all. But the music makes up for it. I believe it sounds great, some of the best I've heard in a video game. Many think it sounds glitchy, but I have yet to hear anything worth complaining about. Controls 10: Like most RPG's this game does not have very advanced controls. Its the standard walking, selecting, pause menu buttons, unlike games of the fighting genre. I think they allow you to play the game very efficiently. Fun Factor 10: With well over 60 hours of gameplay and so much to do, this is a GREAT, GREAT game. I would highly recommend it for both casual and hard-core RPG players. FINAL 10: This is a great game down to the final point. From the gameplay to the music this game scores an A+ with me. I definitely believe you should buy, seeing how you will get no where near the end by renting. With near endless exploring, items, lands, dungeons, bounties, side quests, and even more, this game will truly go down as a legend. |
