Tribes
Review
| This game was a VERY good game, but you should only bother if you can
get on the internet with it. Gameplay 7/10 This game was VERY fun, online that is. The game itself is okay, but the game's AI can get irritating at times. (that's why it is more fun to play online :P ) The controls were easy to get used to, but could get a little confusing (such as having to go to the start menu to get to the inventory selection) Targeting also took a little getting used to, but it didn't take too long to get used to them either. Story 6/10 The story was something that I just didn't listen to. I just played this game for the fun, and think you will to. It just essentially consists of the fighting between several factions of people. Audio/Video 8/10 This is where the game kind of came alive for me. The graphics were great, and I greatly enjoyed them. The ''audio'' part was also well done, with the exception of the same ''positive'' and ''negative'' comments that you can get each character to say. The only problem with these is that they get a little repetitive. But otherwise, the audio portion of this game is very well done. Replayability 5/10 This is where the online section of the game makes itself known. You could play this game forever online, but if you can't do that for some reason, you are in trouble. If you don't have the means to get your PS2 online, then DO NOT buy this game for replayablity alone. Online 9.5/10 This is where the game's worth shows. You could easily end up playing this game for hours on end, and not even notice. It gets VERY addictive! Whether you have Broadband or Dial-Up doesn't really matter if you are just planning on joining other people's games (you can still host games, but not over two people, otherwise your game will end up unstable). If you have a type of broadband, then you can host games for people to join. If you wish, there are options to vote on the map and even to kick naughty players. Dial-up can be a little laggy at times, but not something that ruins the experience. Buy or Rent? I would definitely say that it would be a good idea to go ahead and buy this game if you have a Network Adaptor, and a good ISP. If you don't have a way to play this game online, then I would tell you to rent it first, to see if you like it. Otherwise, you might end up disappointed and out of $50. Overall 7/10 Try this game out, it may just make your day! I find this game to be VERY enjoyable, and I think you will too. With the ability to pilot vehicles, use many weapons, and to play with friends online, this game will make you VERY happy. |
